Where are we
Cantiere Musicale Internazionale is based in Mileto, in the San Giuseppe Palace of the 19th Century. Mileto, a bishop see since the 1081, is a little city of 7.000 people 11km far from Vibo Valentia, main city of the province.
Mileto has been quite famous in the history thanks to Ruggiero the 1st of the Altavilla family from Normandy, who chosed the city as his main residence, wich quickly became one of the most important center in south Italy.
Today the city preserves the ruins of a Benedictine abbey and of a old cathedral, founded in 1081.
From Mileto you can easily reach the most beautyful places of the coast as Tropea and Capo Vaticano, and also visit the close archeological areas of the Byzantine age.
How to get to Mileto:
- by car: Railroad (Autostrada) A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, way out “Vibo Valentia- S. Onofrio” or “Mileto”;
- by plane: Lamezia Terme airport (www.sacal.it);
- by train: Vibo Valentia Pizzo station or Mileto station (this one only for local trains).
